Derbyshire County Council – Community Response Unit

Derbyshire County Council are calling on Derbyshire’s network of community groups, voluntary organisations and businesses to help coordinate the community response to COVID19 by joining the Derbyshire Community Response Unit.

The Community Response Unit will help those in need by delivering services such as:

  • food shopping and delivery
  • checking up on people who are isolated with a phone call or online help to prevent loneliness and check whether there is anything they need
  • collecting and delivering prescriptions
  • preparing meals.

If you’re involved in a community group, voluntary organisation or business and you have members who are below the age of 70 who are fit and well they would like to hear from you.

Please fill in the DCC questionnaire if your group or organisation can help here: https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/social-health/health-and-wellbeing/health-protection/disease-control/coronavirus/community-response-unit/community-response-unit.aspx.

South Derbyshire CVS will be working with Derbyshire County Council to help coordinate volunteer response locally, more information to follow.
